Stitch Fix

My Stitch Fix arrivals have been the highlight of my day! Seeing the box at my front door is like an awaited Christmas present!

Yesterday afternoon the doorbell rang, my dogs went crazy, and Blake awoke up from his nap. Every mom’s “Oh no!” dread. He ran out of his room looking disheveled and delirious, then angrily approached Elway, yelled “Stop!”, then ran back to his room and put himself back to bed. I knew I’d just narrowly escaped  the later consequences of a No-Nap day. Thankfully.

Here it was. My cardboard mystery! (That’s how I perceive it. I know it’s clothes, but the excitement of the unknown is, well, mysteriously EXCITING!)

Here’s my personalized note from my stylist.

Now onto the fun! My last Fix didn’t include shoes. I was interested to see what they’d picked out. When filling out my styling profile I made a certain note to tell them that I do not like heels and prefer flats and sandals.

(Excuse my unmanicured nail polish!)

One of my many favorite things about Stitch Fix is that every box contains a theme of colors, so that your choices can be mixed up with one another creating different outfit combinations. My first Stitch Fix was mainly black and white. This fix was all about the navy, gray, and neutral.

Another thing I love about Stitch Fix is that you can request items, if you’d like, for your upcoming fixes. I requested jeans to be sent with this one. I simply explained that I wanted a medium to dark wash skinny jean that was stretchy and comfortable, and that could be dressed up or down. Bam. Done!

This was such a cool fix, with a mixture of work-friendly, or day-out options.

What I loved about it:

  • The style was right
  • The length of the skirt was perfect. I especially loved the fit of it!
  • I liked the option of the navy shirt and that it was long sleeved. The fabric was soft and the top tied in a cute little bow in the back (not pictured.)
  • The gray shirt was just the perfect amount of simple. Flattering fit, versatile color and style, and super comfy!
  • The jeans were a dream as soon as I slipped them on. I don’t know about you all, but I have THE hardest time finding jeans that fit perfectly in all the right places. Don’t think I’ve ever instantly fall in love with a pair of jeans the first time I’ve tried them on, and only after trying ONE pair on!

What I didn’t like about it:

  • The shoes were okay, but I wasn’t a fan of the fringe on the sides. I didn’t feel like it was my style, plus, as I was walking around the fringe kept slapping my foot. Super annoying! I also have skinny ankles (Which makes sandal shopping sometimes difficult) and the part that hugged my ankle kept rubbing up and down, which I knew would end up causing blisters.
  • For the skirt, I kept going back and forth on how I felt about the print. I liked it, but wasn’t in love with it.
  • The fit of the navy shirt wasn’t my favorite. I just felt like it didn’t hang right on me, but I think that’s because I could’ve used it in one size larger.

All in all, I am happy with this fix! I totally understand why the stylist chose the skirt for me, because my Pinterest board is full of flowy skirts and dresses, often with kooky and fun prints. Not sure what it was about this particular print but it just didn’t scream at me.

If you’re at all interested in trying Stitch Fix, I highly encourage you to do so! If you don’t like anything in your box, then you’re only out $20! 😉 Please use my referral link if you decide to give it a go!

They’ve also just added a Men’s Collection!

I kept 2 items from this Fix. Based on my likes and dislikes, which 2 do you think? 😉
Which items would you have kept if this was your fix? I’m interested! It was a tough choice!
